Before you start
Entry requirements
- Minimum age: 18 years old
- Hold a Yacht Skipper (Power) or Boat Master certificate (or equivalent experience)
- Logged sea time: typically 30 to 50 days or 1,500 nautical miles at sea, including 30 hours as night watch leader (with evidence in logbook or letter of sea service)
- STCW Basic Safety Training (mandatory for commercial endorsement)
- Medical fitness certificate (ENG1 or equivalent recommended)
- Good English proficiency (for navigation, exams, and communication)
- Valid ID or passport
